Founded by Fabio Marazzi and Caterina RIzzi, Co.Ges. is and interdepartmental center gathering different competencies and expertise (technical, theoretical and legal) necessary to develop and implement synergically new methodologies to support technological innovation and to manage intellectual property.
Supporting technological innovation, the main goals are:
Ø To exploit research and training activities on intellectual property management and systemic innovation even with reference to those problems belonging to specific industrial sectors;
Ø To supplement different approaches used in different cultural backgrounds and contexts yet to relate to knowledge management and rational knowledge;
Ø To promote and support technology transfer and the related spread of knowledge on technological innovation specifically within scientific institutions and business service centers in particular towards SME.
Main methodologies and technologies involved in this approach regard the following subjects:
v Exploitation of corporate knowledge, particularly technical knowledge;
v Classification, formalization and modelling of technical and legal knowledge;
v Sharing and supplementation of knowledge (functional modelling, functional analysis, products virtual simulation numerical techniques);
v Systematic and rational innovation (TRIZ and GTI theory);
v Sector of specific product technology evolution monitoring;
v Data mining and information retrieval for technology forecasting;
v Translability studies of inventions from different sectors;
v Web content information standardization.
The management of Intellectual property, particularly within SMEs, is a hot subject, mainly with regards to unfair competition and trade competitors both on the territory and in Developing Countries in the Far East (China, India, etc.).
Managing intellectual property, the main goals are:
v To develop methodologies and means for the management and the exploitation of intellectual property able to synergically supplement the distinctive factors of IP;
v To develop and refine models for the management of Ip oriented to SMEs;
v To gather scientific and legal competencies of the partners involved;
v To promote the development of a service center for corporate and companies with regards to IP subjects.
